Day 65 St Paul de Vence

In the morning we walked up to town to get some walking maps from the tourist info and to go to the bank at which we had to deposit the balance of our accommodation fee. This being a Monday it was of course not open, so we'll have to go again tomorrow.

We lobbed into a café that advertised free WiFi so B and I set about getting connected. We both foolishly accepted the strongest signal that Windows suggested and we tried for almost half an hour to get the password provided by the waiter to work, unsuccessfully. Fortunately we both came to our senses eventually and scanned the list of connections and the one for the café was one of the weaker ones, but the WPA password worked. Emails at last, after over a week in digital limbo. Being on battery and working on my lap was not conducive to doing anything significant, like updating this blog. We saw with some dismay that the Aussie had dropped 5 cents against the Euro since we last looked.

Our goal after lunch was Saint Paul de Vence, a famous hilltop village nearby. H & B walked and we drove there after a little siesta. It is quite small and very pretty, but full of tourist shops, many with an artisanal flavour.
